Breastfeeding Care
by Danielle Baez, M.Ed., IBCLC
Preparing to go back to employment
Mother's are the fastest-growing segment of the U.S. labor force. 70% of mothers who work full- time have children under 3 years of age. Unfortunately, there is a sharp decline in the rate of breastfeeding continuance once mothers enter the work force. This does not have to be your reality.
There are strategies to help you with your goal of continued breastfeeding while returning to employment. This consultation will be in the comfort of your home. I will help you create a care plan to support your breastfeeding goal. We will discuss the following:
-
The logistics of pumping....which pump? when? how long? how much?
-
Selecting a supportive caregiver.
-
Exploring options with your employer regarding your return, breaks and more.
-
Stress and fatigue management.
-
Pump capabilities.
I have Medela Symphony breastpumps to rent if you are feeling like it would make your plan more manageable.
