Breastfeeding Assessment
The breastfeeding assessment can be done in the comfort of your home. It will consist of :

A questionnaire to gather more information about your situation.

A breast examination.

A visual examination of the baby.

Discussing techniques/tips on positioning and how to achieve the optimal latch.

How to identify swallowing and when to switch sides.
-
Measuring what the baby is transferring with the use of a precise scale that is accurate to 1/2 teaspoon
-
How to make sure the baby has adequate hydration and nutrition.
-
How to use your breastpump, flange fitting and when to pump.
-
Storage guidelines for pumped milk.
-
You will receive printed notes detailing the techniques and tips we discuss.
I will provide you with a superbill that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement of the consultation fee.
Many insurance programs will reimburse the fee but it is important you check with your insurance to see what will provided for reimbursement.
Included with the consultation fee is phone support. I am here to listen to you and support you until have reached your breastfeeding goal. $350-$375
Follow-up consultations are available upon request and there is a separate fee for this service.
If you would like to rent a Medela Symphony breastpump during the visit I can provide you with one.
Payment is kindly requested at time of service.
You will receive a superbill which will provide all the information needed (my NPI number, diagnosis code etc.) to submit to insurance for any reimbursement of the visit.
*Please note: I will be communicating with your healthcare provider and your baby's healthcare provider to allow for continuity of care, ensuring the best care for you and your baby.
